MIT Media Lab Welcomes Dava Newman

I’m so pleased to welcome Dava Newman as our new Director of the MIT Media Lab!

A few minutes ago I participated in a Zoom call where Dava Newman, an MIT professor of aeronautics and astronautics whose groundbreaking work has advanced human performance in space with the goal of interplanetary reach, was named the new director of the MIT Media Lab, effective July 1, 2021. As a special welcome, the community dressed up in custom astronaut suits, so she’d feel right at home!
